Environmental and Economic Sustainability Task Force

December 21, 2010

It is my distinct pleasure to appoint Ms. Angie Mei to the Environmental and Economic Sustainability Task Force.

Ms. Mei has a passion and dedication to creating a system of community gardens throughout San Diego neighborhoods. She obtained masters degrees in City Planning and Landscape Architecture from the University of California, Berkeley, where she focused on urban sustainability, natural resource planning and community development. She currently works for the International Rescue Council managing the Food Security and Community Health Program, which has a heavy focus on building a system of community gardens/farms throughout San Diego. Previously, she worked as a project manager at MIG, Inc., an organization dedicated to planning, designing and sustaining environments that support human development.

Ms. Mei's expertise and dedication to building a livable, sustainable urban environment in San Diego will be invaluable to this committee, as it considers various factors regarding the Climate Mitigation and Adaptation Plan.
