Alvarez Reacts to IBA’s Concerns on Lack of Funding for Infrastructure

December 8, 2014

SAN DIEGO (December 8, 2014) – Councilmember Alvarez has issued the following statement in response to the Independent Budget Analyst’s (IBA) assessment of the Mayor’s Five Year Financial Outlook:

The IBA’s statement calling the Mayor’s allocation of 50% of major revenue growth for infrastructure a ‘noteworthy commitment, but unlikely to result in significant funds compared to magnitude of need’ should be a wake-up call for all San Diegans.

City streets won’t get fixed and fire stations, parks and libraries will be further delayed without a more significant commitment from this administration.
