Alvarez sets office hours for southern communities of District 8

January 31, 2011

San Diego, CA- City Councilmember David Alvarez announced new office hours at two locations in the southern half of his district.  The times and location will give constituents convenient access to their Councilmember in their own community.

Councilmember Alvarez will be available from 10AM-1PM on the first Fridays of the month at the San Ysidro Community Service Center, 663 E. San Ysidro Boulevard.  He will also host visitors from 10AM-1PM on the third Fridays of the month at the Otay Mesa-Nestor Branch Library, 3003 Coronado Avenue.

“Being accessible to my communities is a top priority for me,” says Alvarez.  “Providing convenient access is especially important for South San Diego, as downtown may be inaccessible for some.  I look forward to working with my constituents on issues that are important to them, and in their own neighborhoods.”

Two options will be available for those wishing to meet with Councilmember Alvarez. Appointments during office hours can be made by calling the District 8 office at 619-236-6688.  Additionally, walk-in visitors will be taken in the order they arrive based on availability.  Office hours will begin on Friday February 4, 2011.

Alvarez is the Councilmember for the Eighth Council District of the City of San Diego, which includes the southern communities of San Ysidro, Otay Mesa, Ocean View Hills, Nestor, Egger Highlands and the Tijuana River Valley.  He is currently the chair of the City Council’s Natural Resources and Culture committee.
