SAN DIEGO, CA (August 10, 2016) – Councilmember Alvarez has issued the following statement in response to the San Diego City Council’s rejection of the Consideration of Ballot Publication Requirements:
“Democracy requires that every voter be provided all information when considering a ballot measure. The proposal to remove the text of the two citizen’s initiatives from the voter pamphlet did not provide full public access and information to voters.”
